37 - Bullies sig...

In my time playing Warhammer I have been lucky enough to start running with a great group of people, The Bullies. This guild has helped to keep Warhammer fun through the rougher times and now they(we) are spreading out into other mmo's. The Bullies are being represented over on the Aion Beta and are soon to be seen in the Gloabal Agenda Beta and Star Wars the Old Republic when it launches.
Anyways as part of our forums a lot of peoples have custom signatures and I had never made one so I thought it might be fun. With the templates I was sent from some great guildmates I was able to turn out what I think is a pretty cool signature repesentative of my main, a rank 40 Disciple of Khaine named Twixtt.

Well here they are, my two tries at a banner for the contest. The second was actually the first one I did, fun but didn't seem right so I did the second one(the one on top) and made it my official entry. Hope the guys over at GAMC like it.

33 - Mural part 7

...And on the 7th day it was DONE! I did all the touch up today and finished the Cat n the Hat. Had to go back and redo almost all of the outlines which look much better now. We are planning on having the bookstore open for business on Wednesday July 1st and then I guess I will be getting a lot of feedback. Though lucky me I have had employees going in and out all week checking to see what I'm doing and they all seem to like it, hopefully the kids will agree. Now I can get to stocking all the empty shelves we have.

32 - Mural part 6

....And behold on the sixth day there was a Wild Thing...reading a book.. Got the rest of the color finished up yesterday, now I add the rest of the black to the Cat in the Hat and then do the touch up work and it shall be finished...then I have to clean up my mess...

31 - Mural part 5

...And on day 5 the color really got added. Finally starting to look like something. If all goes well I will have the color finished tomorrow, which would be good, I think the other employees are getting jealous of my time painting...

30 - Mural part 4

...And here we have the rest of what I have done so far. Just got started on the color, hopefully the rest of the color will bring it all together. Hell as long as some kids get a kick out of it I'll be happy.

29 - Mural part 3

...And more mural, including Ralph Mouse my personal favorite...

28 - Mural part 2

...And more stages of the mural...

27 - Mural part 1

Well here it is. Finally getting some artwork done. Talk of a mural for the children's section at the new bookstore I got hired to work for in the Idaho Youth Ranch started during my interview and the other day one of my bosses said it was put up or shut up time. She gave me a full day to figure out what to put on the wall and I spent the next work day putting it all up on the wall in charcoal. Finished off the work week, Saturday and Sunday for me, by putting all the outlining up on the wall in black paint. Sunday afternoon I even got a little bit of the color put up. Hopefuuly I will be wrapping this up soon, I think my managers want me to get back to work, lol.
And yes it is more of a disjointed collection of characters then a fluid integrated mural but that's what I'm calling it. More pics will follow.

26 - 32 months

Well... let's see. Got a new wife, check. Got a full time job, check. Got a stack of bills to catch up on, check. All things going as planned I guess. Stress stress stress, but in a way it makes me happy. for I have hit another little milestone, it has been 32 months since I had a smoke. Still want one some days but I don't need one anymore. Now if I could just get some new stuff up here I would be doing great. I blame the Warhammer.

24 - And onto February...sketchbook please...

I am currently working on a digital painting of a character of mine from Warhammer, his name is Twixt, and he's looking cool so far. But at the moment I am not ready to let anyone see what I got so far, so...
These are some of the pages I have been doing in my sketchbook keeping up with my new year's resolution, one drawing a day no matter what. And I am happy to say that I haven't missed a day so far, 1/6th of the way through the year, not bad.
After all the craziness at the end of the semester last year I wanted to take on a fun set of drawings so I am actually working my through a copy of How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way I just picked up. My first copy disappeared a long time ago, had to buy a new one. So much love to Stan Lee and John Buscema, great stuff. Nothin like turning some boxes into akward looking planes and doing some old school perspective practice. And Animal was just for fun. Hope you enjoy the sketches.

23 - Tattoo to you to...

Well here we go, the year is on it's way and as for now I am keeping up with my resolution. I usually don't make them as they seem to be something that's usually forgotten by Febuary but I thought this one might be different.

For this year I decided that now that I have my degree and no longer have anyone telling me to draw that I need to make sure to push myself so I made my resolution to draw something everyday this year. Wether just a sketch or working on projects I am determined to not let a day go to watse this year. And hell it can only help my art so I plan on keeping it up.

So far I have only done a bunch of sketches but I have plans and things are in the works. One of which is the design above. A friend of a friend asked if I could design a tattoo for her. The idea she had was to mix the neck barcode tattoo from Dark Angel with the universal gay symbol of the rainbow. And behold the rainbow barcode, and yes I did see others on the web. I searched and saw a couple but this one is mine, or at least it's my design, possibly someone else's for tattooing. hopefully she will like it.

22 - A New Year and an old piece...

Well according to my BSU account I have earned a B+ and an A- for the semester which means I am now a BSU graduate. I have me a BFA in Illustration after only 4 1/2 years which isn't bad considering I switched my major over from Art Education after 2 years. Guess now I just have to wait for that pretty little piece of paper to show up in the mail and do my best to keep chugging along and not slow down on my artwork.
In an effort to accomplish this I will be making my New Year's resolution a crazy one, well for me anyways. I will work on a sketch or piece of art everyday throughout the whole year. I should already be to this point so it's time to get on the ball and quit with the procrastination. Should be fun.
Now that I am officially a graduate I would like to send huge thanks out to Dan Scott and Bill Carman, my two teachers from this semester and the two guys I learned the most from during my time at BSU. They are both amazing teachers which completely different styles but if you ever get a chacne to meet either one or take a class from them do it becuase you are guaranteed to learn something interesting. Thanks tons guys, everything you did for me is well appreciated.
And on to the post pic, I wanted something that represented my time at BSU so I am putting up the piece I did for the Illustration class musical poster assignment. Not my best work at BSU but a piece I had a lot of fun doing and one that turned out pretty cool. So that there is the poster I came up with when I found out they were doing Evil Dead The Musical. So cool, singing zombies man, can't beat that with a stick, well , maybe a Boomstick.
