164 - Bucktooth Noodlearm Boy...I don't know why...

Bucktooth Noodlearm Boy my first creation on my nice new touchscreen laptop. These little suckers aren't bad. This one is a little old but I like it. Downloaded Sketchbook Pro to see if I could get any kind of positive result with the active digitizer stylus and I have to say the combination is nice, no where near what I had with my Wacom on my PC but workable. Using the pencil tool you can get nice sketchy lines that build up even with a stylus and touchscreen that have about 6 layers of sensitivity at most. So here we have the first sketch with my new set up. More to come...

79 - as Things go by

And here we have the first pass of scanning in the inks and cleaning things up a bit in Photoshop. Probably going to do another pass with the lines and touch up a few spots. Just really liked how this came out and felt like sharing. Hope y'all enjoy.

And just food for thought - I was thinking tonight about a Drink and Draw night here in Boise, I wonder if anyone would be interested?

78 - what is this THING?

Step 2 done. Went back and made some changes after getting great feedback from the folks over at PencilJack, great forum. Got the digital pencils done and now I am going to print it out again and finish the inking by hand with my new ink brush ala Skottie Young style. I've never done digital pencils before and my inking skills as limited as they were are now also rusty, hopefully this turns out well.

75 -that Thing you do.

This drawing was originally done by Steve McNiven, all credit where credit is due. I have the image set as my desktop wallpaper at the moment. The original has Sue standing in front of Ben but I wanted to just work on the Thing so sadly no Sue Storm this time.

While looking at the image I started a sketch in Sketchbook Pro 2011, I got the image partially done and converted the image to blue lines in Photoshop and then printed it out and started inking it with a Prismacolor ink brush. I've been wanting to try this technique as I've been watching a lot of the videos that Skottie Young has up in multiple places(check out http://www.skottieyoung.com/ for some great stuff) and his way of working is very different from mine. So mainly it's just for fun.

After I worked on the ink for a bit I decided to add in more pencils and try to do the rest of the image. Added some lines with just pencil and I'm gonna rescan it and add in the rest back in Sketchbook Pro 2011.

I just threw this piece up on http://www.penciljack.com/ to get myself started there. Hoping for some positive art critique and feedback. I am also posting it here for both of my loyal fans, enjoy.
