The 10 minute sketch for PencilJack's weekly sketch group had some serious speed this week. Fun stuff. Can't remember the last time I tried to draw a car. I am way out of practice.

Another week and another 10 min sketch for the fabulous PencilJack weekly sketch crew fun times. I need to work on my speed and get more of the full overall impression of the image on the page before I try to get details. Gotta get fast, Usain Bolt fast baby!

203 - a quick punch!

I keep needing to take breaks from coloring.  So many hours of staring at a computer screen eventually does damage. So as I need breaks and I need to keep working and improving on my art I am going to keep updating this here blog of course but I am also going to try and toss some stuff back up on PencilJack again. That is a community of great people that I miss chatting with so I am diving back in. First step I took part in this weeks sketch group and started with the 10 minute sketch picture of an mma fight. It's not complete as I timed myself and was honest. It was nice to kinda get in there and just cut lose and see what would come out in 10 minutes. It's crazy when that timer goes off and you realize that 10 minutes just flew by. Fun stuff.

179 - a couple of toughs

This is the piece I did for one of my fellow penciljackers over on the PencilJack forums for X-Mas 2011. Totally forgot to post it. I think it turned out pretty well as this is the first time I had drawn either Concrete or the Goon and it was also the first time I had really went into a piece with the whole pack of pencils using various lead levels.

174 - My favorite Martian, my 2nd favorite Marvin

Always fun to be had with the weekly sketch group over at PencilJack. Had the option of drawing my favorite alien as one of the choices this week. There was only one choice. My favorite Martian and he's my 2nd favorite Marvin. Enjoy.

172 - a quick Quick Kick upside Cobra's head

A quick sketch from my version of Drink and Draw night that I've been doing @Brewforia every Monday night for the awesomeness that is @GeeksWhoDrink over in Meridian. Come by, it's a blast.

This is another one for the PencilJack weekly sketch group. Favorite G.I.Joe, which for me was Quick Kick who is basically the Joe version of Bruce Lee/Shang Chi. Pure sweetness. How you gonna mess with a Joe that  doesn't wear shoes!

166 - A Gully of a time!

Sneaking in under the wire again on a Sunday evening with my sketch for the PencilJack weekly sketch group. Gully from Joe Mad's Battle Chasers. This is not the little girl you want to mess with. With her daddy's power gauntlents she is more then a match for almost anyone.

A little Hong Kong Phooey action for the PencilJack weekly sketch group thing. Always a fun spot to find tons of talented peoples and bajillions of cool images.

152 - Leeloo in color

Took my Leeloo sketch for the PencilJack weekly sketch group and put some color to it. Fun stuff. I keep learning and learning with each thing I color.

151 - Leeloo with the Big BaDa BOOM!

A little Leeloo sketch for the PencilJack weekly sketch group. If you don't have a whole lotta love in your heart for Leeloo and the Fifth Element, than quit talking to me, you are not my friend.

This one turned out nicely. I like it enough I might color it just for fun.

147 - B9 Lost in Space

Finishing the night off with a little B9 from Lost in Space for the PencilJack weekly sketch group. Pure Copic marker gray scale fun.

145 - Petey the Ptetraventurer

Whole lots of other stuff going on but I'm sneaking in another PencilJack weekly sketch group piece right before the end of the weekend. Meet Petey the Ptetraventurer, king of the winged adventure, flying into trouble and fun all day!
Sadly Whitney Houston died this weekend but we were lucky enough to have an amazing tribute song by Jennifer Hudson on the Grammys, I almost teared up. What I find the saddest though is that I think I felt worse when Whitney Houston seemed to through away her career and talent chasing drugs, after that it seems this end was almost inevitable. Another great loss.

143 - take me to your Taskmaster

Sunday bloody Sunday. Oh no, wait...it's a lovely day! My boy Marvin and his wife Alicia welcomed a new one into the world today, Ellis Kinney is now a part of the clan. And my favorite little man Wilson now gets to join the world of those who actually have to share. You know it has to be hard at 4 to give up attention and toys, I know I wouldn't like it. Congrats to Marvin, Alicia, and Wilson as Ellis joins in the fun. 

Now on to the above drawing. Finished the dang thing last night as I watched the UFC on FOX. One really bad fight, possibly the most uninteresting fight in the last 2 years, and a couple of okay fights that were nothing to write home about. The worst thing was that it seems Chael Sonnen believes he is now in the WWE. The post fight "interview" with Joe Rogan sounded like one of The Rocks old promo spots with the words "Chael Sonnen" inserted everywhere that "The Rock" had been. When you start referring to yourself in the 3rd person and how the guy with the microphone is feeling basking in the glory of your presences it should be after you just did an amazing knockout or out someone into a great submission and got a tap, not after eeking through 3 rounds and "winning" a judges decision. Man I hope this isn't the start of UFC fighters starting to think that they should act like pro-wrestlers. I love my MMA, and I love my pro-wrestling but never the twain shall be confused you know. 

Oh yeah I was gonna say something about the drawing, ha! Another sketch for the lovely weekly sketch group over at PencilJack. Fine bunch of lads over there. Started this at the Geeks Who Drink over at Brewforia on Monday night and now here we have the end result. I have to say I enjoyed the hell out of this one, think it turned out pretty well. 

140 - Bad Bad Belle

We have a double post. It's almost like I'm increasing in speed, crazy stuff, 2 in 1 day wow! Just sneaking in under the wire for the PencilJack weekly sketch group. Quick sketch of a vampiric Belle from Beauty and and the Beast and yes a vampire version of a Disney princess was one of the sketch group choices this week, PencilJack is awesome! If you've never you should go check them out.

130 - just a little someTHING different

Ben Grimm for the win suckers! Just a little something for the PencilJack Weekly Sketch Group. The real fun of this one was using the Copic multiliners and the Copic color markers I got for Xmas for the first time. How can you not love Ben Grimm, the Ever-Loving Blue Eyed Thing,  rocking the sweater he got for Xmas.
